Jewish Iranian MP: Israeli War Crimes Must Be Denounced by the World

The representative of the Jewish minority in the Iranian Parliament Siamak Marreh Sedq strongly condemned Israel’s recent attacks on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and said that the time is now ripe for the international community to break its silence on Tel Aviv’s criminal acts.

“Attacks on hospitals, schools and other public places are regarded as war crimes and the world should break the silence and confront these savage attempts,” Marreh Sedq told reporters on Thursday.

He noted that Israel should have its membership at the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRS) annulled.

The UN has issued at least 90 resolutions against Israel, more than resolutions against all other nations combined. The number would be greater, if the US had not begun begun vetoing the UN resolutions that were critical of Israel. A further indication of US hypocrisy and bias towards Israel is the fact that, in 2002, the US invaded Iraq after 1 resolution, saying that Iraq was in violation of international law.

The United Nations, and most of the world, recognizes Palestine’s boundaries as those that existed prior to 1967. Israel has no interest in giving Palestine any borders; the complete annihilation of Palestine, its nation, people and culture, is Israel’s only goal.

Israel’s total disdain for world opinion is obvious, but the BDS (Boycott, Divest and Sanction) movement, modeled after the same movement that greatly contributed to the success of ending apartheid in South Africa a generation ago, continues to grow. Academics and entertainers refuse in increasing numbers to visit Israel.

While boycotts take a toll on the Israeli economy, it can always count on the US to supplement any loss. Currently, the US gives Israel over $3bln annually. That comes to $9 million dollars every day of the year.

Palestine, of course, receives nothing from the US.
