Topics discussed will include: the Iraq and Afghan wars, Israel-Palestine, national security, law and justice, Al Qaeda and the "war on terrorism," what’s happening at the White House and on Capitol Hill, a review of social, economic and environmental issues, the unfolding financial crisis on Wall Street, corporate power and influence, and other vital topics of national and international concern.
Francis Boyle and Cindy Sheehan are the featured guest on The Global Research News Hour.
Host: Stephen Lendman About this week's guests (March 3)
Francis A. Boyle
11 AM Central Time
Francis A. Boyle is a distinguished University of Illinois law professor and internationally recognized expert in international law and human rights. He also lectures and writes extensively and has authored many books, including his latest titled "Protesting Power: War, Resistance and Law."
In addition, Boyle has a long and impressive record representing human rights issues and cases, national and international bodies, and in 1991 and 1992 was the legal advisor to the Palestinian Delegation to the Middle East Peace Negotiations. In 2003, Boyle also wrote a "Draft Impeachment Resolution Against President George W. Bush" for the Congress. So far, the issue is still on the table unresolved with hope, nonetheless, public pressure will force the current Congress to act on it.
Cindy Sheehan
12 noon Central Time.
Call her a "Peace Mom" and co-founder of "Gold Star Families for Peace (gsfp.org), an organization for families who have lost loved ones in Iraq.
It's also the title of her new book - "Peace Mom, A Mother's Journey through Heartache to Activism." After her son, Casey, was killed in Iraq in April 2004, she's become internationally recognized as a leading figure in the struggle to end the war and mass human suffering and deaths it's caused.
Because the Democrat-led Congress refuses to act, Cindy will challenge Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her congressional seat in November. That effort and her courageous activism will be discussed on the program in-depth.
